79 wagoneer to 88 parts interchange

I got a friend that is willing to give me parts off his 79 wagoner before he scraps it. What are the main differences between the two or perhaps a better question would be what will not interchange (easily). It has manual windows so I was considering those even if I don't install just to hang onto.

Just the tranny and maybe rear axle will be different, and some interior bits. Take what you can get and toss/sell/give away what ya can't. All the body pieces swap.

It appeared that the vent windows looked different.

He has a replacement Lt rear lower quarter panel that looks like it it will work. It doesn't have the 79 tail light opening. Looks more like my 88. The sticker on the back said up to an 83. Wasn't sure if there was a change between these years.

The front axle will be a passenger drop on the 79, driver's drop on the 88. Rear axle on both should be a D44, the tranny and transfer case will be different and some of the starting gear will be as well.

Other than that, most of the other stuff should swap just fine.
