What drive train components should I expect to find in a 78 Wagoneer? Now with Pic!

Yes I know, apparently I suck at searching this site.
I found a Wagoneer for sale while vacationing at Grand Lake and jokingly mentioned to my wife that I should go see what its about. She went to the convienient store with my sister where it is parked behind in a small field, to get some items. When they returned, she said it was now ours.
Sis is supposed to get me a pic to show yous guys. I personally have not been closer than 50 yards to it. Supposedly, it belonged to a guy that was killed in a boating accident and has been sitting right where it is for 5 years. My wife was told that it was running when parked.

Most likely.........360/TH400/QTrac.

Maybe a 401 if you're lucky.

If you are real lucky it has the AMC 401 which is the holy grail for engine options.

I just want to say, whatever drivetrain that thing has is irrelevant; any woman who buys you a Wagoneer on her own initiative is a KEEPER!

Well actually Steven, my plan A is to get it to Sis's house and try to get it running so I can drive it home. But I could take a minute to socialize if things go well. Of course, if they don't go well, I will be looking for a rescue.

I can do the rescue thing if needed i can get trailers probly too, but if it is like mine it allways gets me home, might take a little longer than normal but i get home I drove mine to Don s's house from houston and than to lindells and back home to houston a few years ago with a real bad tranny, it would not even pull it's self out of Dons yard with out some help but it made itlet me know when you might go try and get it running and i will see if i can make it up to help, the wife wants to see the dam in all it's roaring glory so it will be a easy way of getting up there

Well I just got the picture and have identified this as a 72-73. Looks like the 401 gods are not smiling on me.

Even worse, if it is a 72, it may have a 304!

Mmmm. Cheesegrater. Looks like Fairway Green, touched up a few times. Definitely has potential.

Well I have hit a bit of a snag. Turns out there is no title on this one, so I have some investigating to do.

Also, in light of the locking hubs on the front axle, I'd say 360/TH400/D20. But since there is no engine size callout on the fender spears (or at least it doesn't look like it) it's hard to tell. For a while in the early 70's the engine size was an emblem behind the wheel by the "4-Wheel Drive" emblem. Perhaps these got lost in a repaint. If it is a 304, at least the earlier trucks were a lot lighter.
