Wink

Iam going tostart some minor body work and I want to pass my methods by you all....I am a compentent welder so that should make life a little easier...

I have 2 problem areas:
1) many screw holes where different mirrors were placed

2)small cancer at rear of rear fender well.

my ideas on how to fix:

screw holes: make sure sheet metal is flat, then put a piece of sheet metal(which guage?) behind the holes and then weld the hole, then grind off with a flap wheel to make smooth

cancer: cut out all damaged areas, put a piece of sheet metal behind the hole and tack weld along the edges. then I think Iam going to have to fill the hole with some bondo type stuff to make even(as the patch will be behind the original metal) then sand.

am I on the right track here? any guidance will be appreciated, as I don't want to screw this up!
