Thumbs up

Any of y'all planning to go??

We are looking at taking the week off before the Safari to go play some over there. This year the week of event is March 19 - 27, so we are looking at the week of the 14th. We have gotten where the crowds are almost too much to deal with but still wanna go play...

Red Rocks...

EDIT - 4/4/05 - I took a 3day weekend after EJS and met up with some CFSJA folks. It was a hoot! There was a J20 that never made it on the trail officially. Scott's J has been a work in progress and I hope to see it on the trail some day soon. We did some pratcie on Fins & Things Friday to check out the rigs. Then we did Fins & Things and Porcupin on Saturday. Yesterday was Poison Spider, Glod Spike and Gold Bar Rim. Got off the trail at 3:30 this morning with a few repairs and difficulty tracking the trail after dark. Whew...

Wipeout Hill nw moab

been considering it, usually go that weekend before which would be 12-13 this yr, sons BD 12th, mine 14th, depending if kids can get their fjord boncos ready or if we decide to go ourselves, we haven't done hard core trails as Draco ain't up to them mechanically (locker(s) would B nice), may take all week as vaca.
we have tried to camp at cutoff for mill creek road north of arches park, just so of airport. a couple trees there (if you can believe it), sandy wash that goes for miles right next to spot we camp (so long as it doesn't rain) which is a GAS to run the jeep in, pedal to the floor!
driving slow over rocks all day, ya just want to let loose. and with 5 lights on top now, NIGHT RUNS!!!

Were going during the last weekend. Gotta love that raffle and BBQ!. This will be our 10th year. On Sunday, the CJG will meet at the City Market around 9:00 am for a club run, still up in the air on a trail, possibly Rose Garden Hill?

Anybody else have plans for Friday and Big Saturday? (26th and 27th)

I'm burned out with the crowds as well. It's more drinking and and kids than serious off-roaders these days. However, it seems like it's still a bit cold to go in the first part of March since I like to camp in a tent so we are planning a run down the first week of April with about 5 vehicles if I can get my engine rebuilt and back in the GW before then.

We are now looking at March 31 thru April 3. There are 2 or 3 CFSJA folks going at that time. Have been there with snow at that time of year, but hopefully will not be as cold as early-middle March.

we are going to be there march 27 through april 3rd. been there every ejs for last 16 yrs, however, NEVER again at that time. Too many drunks, and 20 year old punks (probably same thing, eh?). We'll be camping out near turnoff to Dead Horse Point. Probably have 4-5 rigs w/us.

I will be there the 19th through the 23rd.

If anybody will be going around that time, look me up.

Todd, if you and Paul go the week before, will you still be there that first weekend (19th/20th)??

I'm gonna' bow out on this one. I'm just gonna' concentrate my time and money on getting Johnson ready for Ouray. I've got mechanical and electrical issues including getting the high elevation bugs worked out, etc. Have fun guys! I'll c'ya in Ouray though.

Hey Ryan, how the heck you been? I see you're still up in the San Juans. You think you'll be bringing the Burly-J out to Ouray this Summer?

Well, I am packed and ready to roll. Looks like I am meeting with at least 3 others FSJers from the Denver area. We had one heckuva snow and blow here on Wedesday here but Spring starts again today and will have low 70s in Moab this weekend.

Looks like Fins & Things and Golden Spike are on the agenda...

See y'all in a few. Dan, you got pix from last weekend??

Only a couple, (will post soon) we wheeled in 12" of snow (and 3' of mud) on BTR on big Saturday. On Sunday, my Jeeps rear CV joint took a crap as I was pulling into City Market to lead everybody on Rosegarden Hill. So I talked Ryan into taking the J-10, with me shotgun, and we led the trail (sorta). We had an absolute blast (especially through the creek crossings) and had a real good day. Have fun this weekend Flint, if my Jeep was not broke, I would meet ya out there.
