The only thing that I have had to do to my stock radiator was have the lower neck above the steering box turned 90* and point toward the passenger side. This allowed me to run a crossover lower hose.

I brought the engine to a friend of mine to get it cleaned up and do some of the simple things to it, I need to get the truck out of the shop as soon as possible, so I am trying to get everything that requires heavy lifting done so I can bring it home to my shop. List of things for the engine: Killer dowel pin, rear main seal, throw-out bearing, pilot bushing for clutch, 60 lb. springs, general clean up and paint.

We took the timing cover off the other night to do the dowel pin, only problem was.....the pin is gone....after doing some research online I am one of only a handfull of cummins owners that have had the pin fall out and not go rocketing through the side wall/blow up the engine on the planet. I have really really good luck and really really bad luck, there is no in-between it will be one or the other. Camera will be back soon, transfer case cross member is half built, front to be lifted up, and lots of welding this weekend.....

I've read about the pin coming out so I opened my cover up. The pin was almost about to fall. I did the pin trick and also tightened some of the bolts in there.

Nice catch, not many people have it come out, guess we are just lucky

The tranny was pulled off, throwout bearing was about gone, input shaft a bit grooved, not too bad. Clutch is muticolored and abused. Now the hunt for a new clutch begins....any suggestions? Going to search after work today....

I just gotta say awesome build!! Im looking forward to the updates, especially about the on board air (thats on my list too)..

Ive used Pheonix Friction on my auto to NV5600 manual swap. Its hard to beat their prices, service was good too. I ordered their flywheel and OEM style clutch for my application. It came with hardware, clutch centering tool, and an extra pilot bearing..My only concern is that the friction material on the clutch disk seems really thin (thinner than the friction material on my friends stock LS1 clutch disk). But it does come with a 12,000 mile warrantee if i remember correctly. Ive put ~2000 miles on it so far. Hopefully ill only be driving the Ram a couple thousand more miles before it all goes into my stepside.

Thanks Mud, I will trade my townside for that stepside any day. Hope you get your project off the ground soon, just keep stashing the cash and parts. Unfortunately Pheonix Friction does not have a clutch kit for the Getrag 360. I read many write ups on different diesel forums, talked with my father and some friends that are diesel nuts, and it has come down to getting a Southbend. I can get a single disk clutch rated for 300hp and 650ft-lbs for $400 on http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/south-bend/0090.htm shipped for free. I could get an OEM replacement from Napa for $240, but I think it will be money well spent in the long run. I plan on working at the shop all weekend and I promise to find my camera before I do...

I agree. That seems to be a good deal for what you get.

Here we go, major picture update sorry for the delay!

These are the pics of the engine placement with the cab, perfect clearance:

Now right here would be the problem, I did not think there was enough clearance for the front pumpkin under the stock dodge engine cross member:

So to fix that I did this:

Everyone at the shop kept asking why I was making it taller.... but it will clear no problem now

Next was the trans/tranny mount cross member:

I decided I wanted to make it very easy to remove the transmission, so two bolts was the best I could come up with. When I get the engine back I will get everything set and tack the mounts onto the frame, I just want to make sure the angle is right and the engine isnt tilted back through the firewall.....

and this is the stock radiator that came with the truck....that will soon have larger ports brazed onto it...

clutch is ordered, my truck is next in line at the body shop, and I am getting close to being done welding.....whew what a weekend...

Looks great, keep up the good work. Are you going to clean up the motor and paint it or anything before final assembly?

I asked myself the same question After looking over all the photos I have taken, I determined that the frame on the Dodge got narrower in the front after the engine mount and the frame on the Jeep does not. I can get everything in a possition that it will not rub, however I would like to put 33's or 35's on this beast when I am done, and these are 31's....
