My New Truck
You might be wondering what an '84 Chev 3/4 ton is doing in the FSJ Discussion thread. Well, this Chev has a name. I call it axle .... axle donor. I paid $500 for it.
The big 14 bolt rear:
I was hoping for a dana 60 front end, but alas:
It's still going in the Jeep though. It's an upgrade over my closed knuckle 44 with the shot hubs and non-existant brakes.
It's also got an SM465 tranny and an NP208 transfer case. Again, I was kind of hoping for a 205, but the main thing I was after is the axles. The other surprise is how well it runs. The 350 was rebuilt fairly recently, complete with aluminum intake, four barrel carb and headers. It runs really well.
I'm fond of my 327, but this 350 is tempting.

Good score!
AND, I am usually the last one to reccomend dropping a SBC in a FSJ, but in this case, it seems that you would be crazy not to...

Wow! $500!
If you choose not to use that SBC, you could sell it.
After you scrap the body, you might could recoup your initial cost of five bills.

I also would have to say it wouldn't hurt to swap that motor in as well...for now parts for those are plentiful...
