I've noticed a few members of this board are from Florida......and unfortunately, i've not found any local FSJ clubs or get-togethers yet!........I have found a few TJ/Wrangler clubs, but the two that i contacted only accept the little Jeeps, no FSJs!........
I think Central FL needs an honorary FSJ club (Tampa, Zephyrhills, Lakeland, Sarasota, Ft. Myers, St. Pete, Orlando), or at least those of us that live in the area could meet somewheres to do some much-needed work, drive around a bit, barbecue, etc.........
Anybody interested drop me a line at auralvein@hotmail.com.

I might come down from Jacksonville. We drove our FSJ down to Lakeland a couple of weeks ago for a Ebay purchase that was too big to ship. I just moved back to FL, haven't lived here since I was a kid, really enjoyed the backroads ride down and saw lots of ORVs.

I'm in!

I'll be working with Troy (Unknown Jeep) this weekend on my 3" body lift. He finished his recently, and reserved some space in his shop at work for us to tear into the Meanie this Saturday.

Mine is pretty much an on-road vehicle now, and Troy's is still "in progress", but getting together with other FSJers has got to be a Good Thing(tm), right?

Right on, anybody that has a free weekend coming up, leave a post here. I'm looking at a BBQ for later this month. Also, i'm trying to track down the guy that owns a beautiful J10 in Brandon.....i pass him every day to work, and we always wave and grin. As for a bit of driving, i'm looking for the Antioch mudpits, which i went to a few times about 5 years ago. It's mostly clay, holes and sandtraps, but i figured we'd have some fun out there.
Above all, i hope to pull some local FSJers together for a bit of informative fun......I still would love to look over some other FSJs, share ideas, etc.
anyhoo, drop a line!

David Simon says there is a nice place near Ocala: Oklawaha. Most of my weekends are free.

Yes there is, Oklawaha Campground, it's on the North side of the National Forest. I've been there a few times with the little Jeep clubs. They seemed to be very accommodating to trail riding groups. There are some nice riding trails there as well as some deep mudholes. Maybe we can find a local to show us around. There are some pictures on my site from Ocala.

Ocala Jeep Club, Jeepers Jeep Club, and Orlando Jeep Club usually have something there once a year. All three have websites spelled just like their name but all one word. I've seen FSJs with all three clubs in the past before I bought mine.

I'm all for getting together with other FSJers. I'm booked solid through the end of April, but I'll watch for any events. If anyone organizes something, send me an email and I'll try to attend.
David

oh, GW for sale, CR 579 & Hillsborough, towards MLK about three houses.
Gold truck, decent shape, some decent rust bottom passenger door.

Bombadier, she's right, I've been there. It's part of the Withlacochee State Forest just outside of Brooksville. There's some nice riding in Croom also, where SR 50 and I-75 cross.

We try to get up to Croom as often as possible. Its one of the few remaining OHV (dirt bikes in particular) friendly state parks in the US.

We should definitely try to set up a BBQ or something. Bombadier, we're pretty close, so I bet we could get something together. Troy is here in south Tampa, and I've noticed Stolen76's locale says South of Tampa. Maybe we could have a BS session soon.

I don't have allot of free time right now, but I'd make time to meet some other FSJers. I'm in Tampa about every other week.

Just got me starter fixed, thank god for easily accessible solenoids!
not this coming weekend, but the one after (3-15/16th) should give all of us time to ask for days off, call in sick, etc.
oh, since i got me starting problem fixed, the Chero doesn't run right anymore.... it used to start up first try (one gaspedal pump included).
sounds like idle is lower, or maybe timing is off. could a starter sticking throw off the timing?

Yup, sure is.....downright balmy out there!
Anyone up for some carb work???? (powervalve) I'll supply the 6-12 pack! My tags ran out this week, gotta renew 'em monday.....
How's everyone's weekends looking for this month? All i need is a solid day so's i can let my work know i'll be "unavailable due to technical difficulties", and also to tell my gf that i've got prior plans (she tends to schedule my weekend activities ahead of time, bless her heart)

any week is good for me , I too would like to give the ole lady a couple days notice.. work wont be a problem, I usually have weekends off , (coincidentally I work for Bombardier) , I wont be much help with the powervalve , carbs are not my specialty.. but If we get together.. I will be able to help you fix the 6-12 pack , I'll even spring for the parts..

I'm good at fixing 6-12 packs myself. Let's set something up. I'd love to take a look at your Jeep in person, JB.

I can get ahold of Troy as well. His Jeep is still not roadworthy, but I'm sure he'd love to come.

JB, aren't you in J-ville? That's a long ride down here.

I would be interested as well, but I may have to do some more work on my truck before I go 4 wheel'n around Florida. She has been sitting for 3 years but is coming back to life more and more every day.

I feel like a lone gw down here in Ft. Lauderdale, but I may be up for a roadtrip towards Tampa. God knows I could use some technical consultation AND I know the part number for the 6-12 packs. Whoever's organizing this, if you could drop me an email that'd be much appreciated.

I can't wait ppl!......not any real hard wheelin' yet, but we gotta scout and prep first, right??
Is there any place kinda midway for everyone to group at? Like Lithia Springs off the top of my head. Or maybe out by Lakeland for the east-coast FL ppl. It would be sweet to have an FSJ-in at the same time as Sun-n-Fun!!!!!!!
