Are you talking about the pod the pulls the 229 t-case into 4wd? if so They are hard to find aparently. every 229 t- case has one. should be tons around you''d think.
A member on here or maybe Fsjnetwork makes a shifter to replace it I think. -

What you're looking for that control the vac shift 229 tcase are called vacuum 'motors'. Canisters are the EPA fuel vapor anti-airpolution boxes/filters(plastic cans) for the fuel system. BJ's Offroad used to sell the vac motors for the 229 tcase. Don't know if they still do?joe
