    It followed me home,

And the wife said I could keep it.
New to me a beautiful 1989 GW. It looks as good inside as it does outside.

For now we'll just drive it like it is. Probably late next year the P pump 4BTA goes in along with Dodge 46RH Diesel trans and a Atlas T case with 3:1 gears.
Haven't researched how much lift it will need or any of the details of the swap so for now will just enjoy it.

Looks too nice for a 4BT.

I think I'd go for the new motor Cummins is selling.

'84 GW with Nissan SD33T, early Chev NV4500, 300, narrowed Ford reverse 44, narrowed Ford 60, SOA/reversed shackle in fornt, lowered mount/flipped shackle in rear.

I thought about the R2.8 but the price gets in the way and I have a spare 130hp p-pump 4BT waiting in the corner.

I love the idea of a new crate Diesel (R2.8) but it's a $9000 motor that makes 160HP and 267lb/ft. Then add mounts, cooling, exhaust, trans adapter, and fuel pump and you're pushing $12k. I think it's a little weak for a >4500# GWag. To me the R2.8 is great for CJs, YJs, and TJs but a FSJ needs more torque/power.

You can do a pretty sweet 5.7L Hemi/trans swap for half that and end up with much more power and torque.

I think your 4BTA is better suited for our big trucks and it would be pretty awesome.

Yes the B series is an industrial engine, heavy, loud, vibrates, made for medium duty trucks. But it also works in light trucks.
Been driving my Scout with the 4BT for 18 years until I sold it. I'm addicted to Diesels, it's in my blood. What can I say?

Here's the LINK to 4BTswaps where I'm keeping track of the photos and the repower.
I'll post a update notice when things happen.

Read back through some old posts on 4btswamps.com and found out that I had bought this engine in August of 2014 (5 years ago).
Refreshed some gaskets at the time and it's been sitting since then. I did occasionally turn the crank over by hand at least once a year.
The plan for the Wagoneer is:
                      Keep the 3.31 geared D44's.
Upgrade the p235/75R15 to LT's slightly bigger. Wife wants to keep the alloy rims.
Use a Dodge Diesel A518/46RH trans.
Use the Atlas Tcase 3:1 we bought 5 years ago.
Probably will have to do a 4" spring lift to clear front diff.
Other wise keep it looking stock as we can.
first startup since buying the 4BT

Had to start at the rear before starting the 4B swap. Modified a Cherokee class 3 hitch to fit the SJ.

The plan was to be much further along on the swap but life gets in the way. The swap will get done just a little later!

You interested in a Hood ornament that fit right where the other one does that say DIESEL on it.
