    V8 to auto trans question

Just curious if a 1984 360 would bolt up to a Turbo 400. Currently it is bolted up to a 727.

    yes

you would have to add a spacer/bushing in the crank. You can do it.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

        Uh

I put a 79 that had a th 400 in a 727 80 model with no problem I had to remove the bushing on mine. different flywheel bolted right up. I'm not an expert but I didn't have any issue bolt patterns was identical.

the hub of the T400 torque converter is smaller than the hub of the TC727 converter, which the AMC's were machined for. so a small bushing, looks like a cam bearing, was used in the jeep applications that used the T400 trans, which was thru the 1970's.
