Yes I did. I think I was the 1st guy to show up. He had said there was a couple of guys that had made sight unseen offers on it but none had come to actually look at it and make a real deal. We put a deal together after looking at it, our schedules kept us from completing the transaction until 3 weeks ago.
Seller is a CJ guy and had bought a bunch of stuff for it.

Did you get any good info?! Some things were done, needs a good bit still.

Early '74. New to me. Haven't looked into other plates to see original colors yet.

My 74' Cherokee I picked up that has been sitting for the last 20 years. Working on going through everything and getting it back on the road. Was a one family Jeep before I picked it up.Has original paint with some extra brown stripes added in the 70's. I believe it has 137k original miles.

                  My 74'

I don't have any pics of the tags but will get them tomorrow or so. If ANYONE can tell me what the hole is for in Pic #4 I would appreciate it.

It is the 258, T-18 with the low first, Dana 20. Runs great, looks ROUGH.... slowly working on the body. Replaced one quarter, both rockers so far.

Looks like a good project. That rear bumper tire/gas rack is quite nice, did you make that? I see it uses the stock bumper which I like. Do you mind posting some more pics of that setup? I would like to build one like that as I want to keep the original bumper.

Lots of these get some form of aux fuel tank in the space where the spare goes, under the rear floor. I expect the extra hole is for an aux tank that is gone. My J20 has an aux tank there, and the filler comes out at the top outside of the bed.

Fairway Green Poly (metallic) - great color, only offered 1973-74. The 258/T-18 combo works very well. What's your axles ratio? Not a speed demon, but the amount of room under the hood is wonderful. Lots you can do to hop up the 258, if you are interested.

They're still popping up. Here's one found on Craigslist for $18,000, as of 8/16/2019:

"1974 Jeep Cherokee! First ever year of the iconic Cherokee model line. Daily driver. Pink in hand. Currently registered. Ready for a legitimate overland adventure.

Price includes all equipment as seen in the photos: Rooftop tent by FSR, deployable canopy by FSR, roof rack by Rhino Rack. I'm willing to remove the items for a lower purchase price of just the Cherokee itself. Will also include original roof rack.
