Approximate cost for removal and reseal of windshield

I have a very small water leak along the sides of the windshield (driving for an hour in the pouring rain yesterday resulted in just a few drops accumulating at the corner base gasket). Not wanting rust to develop...but also don't have a lot of extra cash. Any idea what it would run to have the windshield removed and re-sealed? Also getting some ghosting along the outside edge of the windshield (assume from age)...anyone know about what a new windshield runs? Just looking for ballpark costs... Thanks

When I checked a few years ago I was quoted $180 to have a new windshield installed.
There are those that have and those that will.

I had one FSJ windshield replaced in 08 and another in 09 at $285 each.

edit: Both of them taken to the shop.

I got a quote of $200 for winshield and labor, $75 for the gasket if it couldn't be reused.

I did mine last summer for $250. You save a good deal of money if you go to the glass place to have it done, as opposed to having them come to you.

EDIT: By the way, mine was a new windshield, not a reseal.

You can probably fix the leak with some windshield sealant...specifically a flowable silicone. Permatex make some that is available at pretty much any autoparts store for a bout $5. It's real thin in consistency so it wicks into the cracks between the gasket and the glass.

I had the same problem on my J-truck...this stuff stopped the leaks. It won't help with ghosting though ...but it's easy on the wallet
