You defineatly want to keep it within arms reach, when your rig bursts into flames you don't want to be running around to the back to find the ext. If you can't do the hump thing what about under the front edge of the driver seat on the floor. Out of the way but easy enough to just reach down and grab as your exiting the door in a panic

Thanks Guys for some vary useful information.. Many years ago I was a firefighter and got the “FOOL” knocked out of me(learned didn’t I) using a CO2 on a car fire in the engine compartment.. don’t assume the idiot Operator turned off the ignition!!.. like 30,000 volts. Kidde made some VERY sorry fire extinguishers about 20 years ago and I haven’t forgiven them or bought another since. The little indicator needle would fall out of the gauge and slowly leak all the pressure out. These slackers almost cost me $$$ and a Wagoneer. Luckily above 12,500 feet fires are slightly easier to control and I put the big gasoline fire out with a gallon of water.
I saw on RPM Tonight that a critical part of a racecar failed be cause of Dry Power usage/corrosion. I am wondering if fizzing a fire with a Cola foam would as Damaging to parts as it is to meat?.. OK OK!! it sounds dumb
. but think what I could do with a 2 liter Bottle of coke.. .. ds..

Don, if i remember my chemistry, coke contains carbonic acid, but at a relatively mild level. I would think as long as you washed it off relatively quickly you'd be good. The other problem is the possible introduction of sugar into the intake system which as you know is a serious no no. As long as the Aircleaner remained in one piece and all melted/burned/cracked hoses were replaced prior to restarting, I think you'd be okey on that front also.
coke WILL put out a grease fire, don't ask

Oracle .. thanks.. maybe I'll some gloves-on fire testing. In the 1800s people put water in thin walled glass containers to use as extinguishers and then threw them at the fires. .. ..ds..
