looks good. now,get a vacuum advance distributor on there and lose the open spacer on that split plenum intake.

I wasnt sure i wanted to use that open spacer. I have a 4 hole one i'll put on it. The mechanical advance unilite is no good, huh?

it good, but not ideal for the application. you need vacuum advance on the street,it is the load monitor for the ignition system. ignition timing needs change not only according to rpm (mechanical) but also according to engine load (vacuum).

you are giving up throttle response and fuel economy without a vacuum advance. you will be running late timing during cruise.

Ok, better suited in a lighter vehicle then, huh?

Well i dont want to run the prestolite system. Is there a way to set up a motorcraft system without changing the wiring harness? I also have an earlier points distributor.... would it be worth putting a petronix setup in that?

it's suited for a race track. it is not a good street distributor.

get a decent electronic ignition with vacuum advance. be it HEI,motorcraft or aftermarket.

Well, i have an HEI in my CJ-5 that has worked flawlessly so most likely i will get it running on the unilite and coil then switch to a proform HEI when i can afford it. If anything i will steal the HEI from my CJ to make the truck run good.
