Yes big pat ont he back for the Edel boys. Nice day here in Denver and I spent it installing my Edelbrock TES headers. Started at 8 am by 10:30am I had the original exhaust system dropped, both exhaust manifolds pulled and the driver's side header bolted up. They are easier to install than the instructions lead you to believe. Granted it was nice that I started adn put the first wreench to the original manifold bolts I found them all easy to remove. I didn't have to dig out the PB Blaster as I fear might happen. At the end of the day I have both headers installed, Y-pipe in place all plugs replaced wires reattached, added 1" spacer to carb and fired it up. Loud as hell due to open header pipe, HOA pissed again. Tomorrow I'm going to throw a a single 3" cat and muffler in place to get me to work next week then I'm headed to the exhaust shop where they will fab new header pipes to make a dual exhaust system with H-pipe. I'll post pics as I am making a dual exhaust system with both pipes, cats and mufflers on the same side and tucked between the frame and the driveline and not lower than the frame. If you ever have the money to get an Edel exhaust they are worth it. Of course a good used set is even better!
kudos to Edelbrock

Man, this group is amazing... Just when I think I'm going to have to figure something out for myself, someone else is a step ahead of me!
AMX Factor, please keep us informed of the process. I just bought the Edel TES headers and am glad to hear they installed easily. Now, how are you routing your dual exhaust, and how much is the exhaust shop work going to cost? I want to do basically the same thing.
Gosh, I could keep going...Anyway, a cost estimate would be awesome!
Thanks,

bigun - I'll get you some **** pics!
The headers have air tubes on them as they are California CARB legal.
jgarcia2 - I'll be posting finished pics of the system. I'll try and send you a drawing of how I'm doing the one sided dual exhaust. Key thing is the mufflers. I bought Walker Dynomax Turbo Tubes. They are like a cherry bomb except a turbo. There are 3 sets on ebay right now for sale. I went with 24" for room and good sound. I've gotten 2 estimates to finish the system. Basically I need straight tail pipes with a bend to clear rear bumper and new head pipes from headers to cats. One shop wanted $500 which is outrageous comsidering I've done 85% of the work and all he has to do is make make head pipes, another shop said $150 at most."I'm sick of this sickness, don't touch me you'll get this."

Are the TES headers are the new shorty headers? If they are, I thought the original y-pipe was suppose to connect directly to them. Is it the pre 1980 y pile of the 1979 and before y-pipe that connects these. I know, I know, way too many questions!* 1981 stepside, 360, 727, 208, almost stock daily driver.
* 1982 Laredo j-10, 360, 727, in rough shape and in the process of being rebuilt with 401, NV4500, Klune,
. NP205,d60 front, d70 rear, fender work and minimal lift. It will probably take 10 years
* 1973 jcab mounted on 1983 j20 frame. 360/t18/208 d44/d60. Almost completed

No the TES, Tubular Exhaust System is the original Edel headers. The TES comes with a new Y-pipe. No idea on the 79-80 Y-pipe. The TES is about $50 cheaper($510) than the Shortie headers($560) that are yet to be released."I'm sick of this sickness, don't touch me you'll get this."

The UAV is now quite scary and moves very well. Hoping to add the other exhaust next weekend running the single right now. Gonna do a spring trail run Sunday. Should rattle the rest of the dead leaves outta the trees."I'm sick of this sickness, don't touch me you'll get this."

I am refering to the other side of my dual exhaust. I only have one complete system on right now to get me thru emissions testing then I am adding the other half with adn H-pipe. Basically I have to ditch the Edelbrock Y-pipe and build new head pipes. It will all fit along side of itself on the passenger side of my GW."I'm sick of this sickness, don't touch me you'll get this."
