I've been loosely thinking of doing a 6bt swap in my 83 cherokee. you got rid of your tf 727, but i want to keep mine. Do the bolt patterns match? Or does the nv4500 just completely make it worth it.

727 hasno overdrive. I have a 5 speed getrag. The nv4500 is good but I think (from searching and reading) the getrag is just as good. I got a good deal locally too.

The diesel bellhousing is different bolt pattern. Not sure about input, output shafts, or internals

IF for some reason you needed the engine higher up you could use a hood with a high rise in the middle to give a few inches of clearance. I made my decision to go with a 4BTA instead of a 6BT because I didnt want to deal with clearance issues, but it doesnt look like you had any. I also intend to use an underdash HVAC set up.

Good eye. Was waiting to see who would notice that.

You have to do a 4 link. You get to much axle wrap since the CL of the wheel is lower. Haven't decided completely on the suspension but leaning to air bags. Something different plus can let it down and get it in the garage.

No pics but got a little done this wknd. Got the final position of the engine. Will start the motor mounts this week. Pulled the fuel tank. A new one will go in the back where the spare tire was. Put the transfer case under just to see how it will fit. Will have to cut the floor a little. That's it.
