    1965 Wagoneer Paint code 229

Is there anywhere I can find a relatively unfaded color sample of the paint code listed under the hood of my Wagoneer? Some chip pages I've seen call this number "amber" but my Waggy is a sort of light sage green color, and seems to be original.

Where should I be looking for paint and trim code information?

    Thanks for any help,
    John

A J-Series Vehicle Parts List [book] for '65 is prob best starting point.
    I have a '64 here.
It lists three colors Sylvan Green, Nordic Blue, Amber corresponding with
a three number Trim Code. This appears to be the trim color and level. I don't see an exterior paint code or paint/trim plate illustration.
A old school body supply and auto paint place can prob help - although they might have to mix a couple of samples in laquer.

'65 Brochure is promoting the new color options, so there must be dealer info available from both sales and service literature.

For example see the '66 Wagoneer brochure posted in here:

I'm not sure this is too helpful but, I was just looking through the illustrated parts manual and it says paint code 229 is

        AMBER (M) (2) (LAQUOR) ACME COLOR 30-5012, DITZLER DAL-21930, DUPONT (202)96557, RINSHED MASON 63W81
        (ENAMEL) ACME 22-5012, DITZLER DQE-21930, DUPONT (181)96557

You should be able to get samples or chips from an automotive paint place.

The (M) indicates metallic and the (2) "indicates a second or later type" I think that means two tone.
