I don't think the stock hood on my 88 weighs very much. I've lifted it off by myself many times.
I really need one. I cant even put a wing nut on my air cleaner. I used a lightly balled piece of aluminum foil on top of my carb to smash and see if the air cleaner was gona hit back when I finished the 401 install. Very tight.
I wanted back then to run a 1" carb spacer. Now I'll be able to, and go to a 4" tall air cleaner.
They said it will take 5 weeks before it will ship. Plus they are very foggy in freight charges....from $81-$185.
Then they said $131 over the phone....but the email they sent with all it's disclaimers says freight charges may change at any time.
Seems the $131 is right about in the middle.
But I don't care...I'm getting a cowl hood Man!
yoslvr442 you better hurry before they go off sale.
Those fiberglass hoods aren't any lighter than stock steel. You can buy race weight fenders to actually loose weight but on the street hitting a bug at 45 mph darn near cracks them. I have a fiberglass Dodge Max Wedge scoop and it weighs twice as much as an original one. My brothers fiberglass cowl hood for his Javelin weighs as much as his orig steel.
