    Another window question

What's the trick with getting the windows to work properly. I have cleaned the switches, removed and cleaned and lubed the trak, installed new motors, new window felts and seals and the windows are still binding somewhere.

If I unbolt the window it will go up and down smoothly without much effort and the regulator and trak move fairly smoothly with out the window attached.

I've tried adjusting the window track, but it made little to no difference.

I feel like I'm missing something. Is there an adjustment I'm over looking?

if window moves freely but motor isn't working properly...
it is likely an electrical problem.
most common is reduced voltage reaching motor.
what voltage is present @ motor(s) when operating.

sometimes the switches are too far gone, sometimes the wiring has an issue.
@30-ish yrs old it may be time to repair/replace some wiring or switches.

A quick test is directly applying ~battery voltage to the motor(s).
If they(windows) work fine time do start digging into wiring.

Like Babywag said above. I changed the switches to operate relays to make sure I got a full 30 amps to the motors.

Thanks, I'm a little embarrassed I didn't think of that.

Slow when running or just on battery? Did you take the switches completely apart to clean the internal contacts?

I get 11.8v on battery. I cleaned all the switches, of course now the one window switch up is down and down is up.... I'll be taking that apart again.
