What a read. 5 hour return trip.... You know Frank, when something like that happens on a big planned trip, I just say it probably saved me from a really bad accident on the trail and that seems to make me feel better.
For a few minutes anyway...Melford1972 says...
I’d say I feel sorry for you, but I really don’t, Mr. “I-stumble-into-X-models-the-way-most-people-stumble-into-Toyota-Carollas.” 🤣

At least we have our Gold Wing and the golf course is close enough to the RV park that we can get there to play before Stinger starts to overheat.
Got rounds in early in the morning yesterday and again today Had to be early because by 1600 it was 107 degrees.
On the AZ in the morning.1970 J2000(2500) Currently undergoing frame off resto

Frank, sorry to hear about the problems. Especially while on a vacation.
If it's any consolation, the smoke form the fires is so bad, even here in Redmond, that sometimes it looks like fog. I never smoked but I think these fires are equivalent to a pack a day... Sisters actually cancelled the Folk Festival because of air quality. Town's hurting...Randy S.

Randy the problems are a real pain in the butt however we are not going to,let it ruin the trip. Got the new fan in Stinger today and cruising at 80 (75 speed limit) on the freeway things were a okay.
We are in Camp Verde, AZ just a bit south of Sedona and the dang smoke it laying low here too. That makes about 3 weeks of crappy air to breath. Enough already!Last edited by Frank Ziebert; 09-08-2017, 06:44 AM.1970 J2000(2500) Currently undergoing frame off resto

Sorry Errol, nothing recent. I got too busy trying to get ready for this trip to work on the truck.
I suspected a cracked head about a year ago when the heating issue first started. Every test was negative: compression, leak down, not losing fluid, no smoke coming out of exhaust and the oil was fine. Pretty sure it's just inadequate air flow across the tranny cooler, AC condenser, and then the radiator.1970 J2000(2500) Currently undergoing frame off resto

Todd as far as we know the house is fine---at least it was when we left. The national forest all around it is still closed but the evacuation notices for the communities have been lifted.
We are headed to Spearfish for a couple of weeks then home. Jeep need to go into the shop. Coach needs to go into the shop and I need my back doctor1970 J2000(2500) Currently undergoing frame off resto
