My paint job rocks! I made sure that there was excessive dust and debris in my garage prior to painting. I even managed to get a fly painted into the hood. It will be a beautiful truck....in a hard working, daily driven, abused, trail driven sort of way. I am really happy with the color. I was a little scared at first, cause it looks nasty in the paint cans. 2 gallons of WWI light green flat/1 gallon of stock Vietnam era dark green semi/ and 1 gallon of Korean flat. Mix it all together and you get perfection.

Anywho, when I get some more time I will write up all of the details of the Cummins swap and all of the part numbers involved for a GM NV4500. There are a lot of little details that I am learning along the way.

I love the OD green and the Mich XL's. Could you post some pics of how you did your motor mounts for the 4BT. I'm at that point right now with my swap. From the looks of it your using a chevy bell and tranny. Thanks!

Man when I see this it makes me what to put my 4BT in my 73' J-4000......

I'll get some pics of the mounts up. Mine are ugly, I quite literally made them in about 15 minutes. 3/8" x 6" angle iron hanging off the frame rails, same thing off the front of the engine in upside down 'L' position with a Dodge 5.9 insulator sammiched in there. Of course, I gusseted the angle iron. I also installed the engine with the 8* tilt toward the pass side.

Some pics of today's work. Front fenders installed.

They are stock springs. I did a spring over axle lift. Picked up around 8".

                A couple more pics.

I wanted to test fit some parts before prepping them for paint. I bolted the windshield on so I could push the glass out, and then got carried away the the top bow and canvas, the trail doors I am working on, etc.

                I need a larger garage.

Makes sense, since the 6.2 was designed by DD.

Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been around lately. The color is olive drab powder coat from Eastwood.

I really like the color alot!
It reminds of that old school Detroit Diesel color scheme.
Makes it look as if you have a fire breathing 8V92 under the hood!

Did you buy the materials from Eastwood and powercost the tinwork yourself or did you take the tinwork to a powerdcoater?

Almost complete. I just wanted to update with some pics. Still lots of work to do. The 4bt runs like a top and really rolls along with the 4.10 ratio. I am still sourcing and intercooler...with that and 4.56 gears I should have any trouble pulling a trailer with some equipment on it.

                              I know, McCain lost. Whatever.
