Hook a battery up to the motor wires by removing the inspection plate & pulling the wires off the switch put them on the battey one way it goes down the other it goes up.

Provided the wiring to the motor is still intact?
And the safety switch is closed? (you checked it like suggested above?)

...you can unplug the harness coming out of the tailgate under the truck and apply power to the tailgate motor wiring and raise/lower the window depending on polarity.

Done it several times in the boneyard to grab parts vs. the hard way.

              NO NO

There's no safety switch if you connect the battery to the motor.
LOL if the safety switch or the tailgate switch is junk feeding from the plug inderneath is useless. If the front switch is bad or there is a power problem then the plug might work.

zero odds zero guess work hook the MOTOR wires up to a battery.

I'm talking about raising the window w/o removing the tailgate inspection cover and unplugging wires.

The safety switch wires are tan, and can easily be bypassed by jumpering them together.

                        yeah it's difficult

You can try it from the plug underneath but as I stated if there is a problem with the safety switch or the tailgate switch it still won't work. Nobody said anyone said they were or weren't.
I'm not saying the plug won't work I'm saying if it is one of the tailgate switches it won't. I've been there. If the tailgate switch fails there's only one way to get to it. well you could smash the glass.

Also you can remove the clips off the glass & push it up wedge it in or hook some wires up to the motor re-connect the window then roll it up.

To the point if the motor isn't intact then all this is a Moot.

If there's is it's the ones I pointed out in like #3

Bottom left corner of the diagram the safety switch but as stated a million times if the safety switch is bad that is the magic bullet. Notice the 2 wires going to the switch one goes via the switch to the motor. Jump those 2 if you lucky only from inside the tailgate. BTW Mine were white. ONLY if the safety switch is bad other than that the Motor wires & connecting a battery to them. there's not a lot of options & whoever designed the system had no thought of a user servicable system. I know there's no good news but I've messed with these things a lot that is why I redesigned mine.

Yes, If your tailgate key switch is centered and your safety switch is made or jumpered.

In the center of page 41 there are two plugs, one (left rear engine compartment at dash,
The other under center of rear body) Unplug before applying 12 volts.

You can use these to made the window go up or down. just contact 12 volt to these wires.
