Guys, ever since I was messing with the vacuum lines I constantly got 10 MPG based on the ODOMETER. Yeah I know there is offset, but I also put that into calculation.

The real test began today when I filled the tank... It only holds 17 gallons now due to the big dent on the shield

That doesn't explain how you "put gas in as though you're getting 10mpg"?

        Simple.
3 gallons of gas X 10 MPG, Drive to 30 miles after putting in the gas, then put in more. Exact levels will reduce the chance of botching the test.

Testing gas mileage by putting in X amount of fuel and running it until empty seems pretty pointless to me when u can top it off, drive, top it off and then divide.

my 76 with the AC on and doing 70 got 12.5 mpg last week. I have got 14.3 at 65 mph without the AC on. I need to rebuild the carb, may get a little better.
