white wagon wheels on the K5 ???

I have wondered the same thing,.... some came with them in 78
my K5's paint was orange/red and white originally

I have taken the OEM GM Aluminum rims off, I have finished 3, one more to go

I stripped the clear off, polished
    cleaned,....painted the back side

going to have some paint repairs done soon
then adding a 90's Silverado bench seat
....it has a work truck bench from the 90s now.

I have had many different buckets, etc in there,... from OEM 78-88 type to aftermarket buckets,.....the early 90s Silverado bench sits very good.

and dogs like the bench better too !

        Dave!
No idea how I missed your Honcho build. I just read through the whole thing. Amazing Truck!
        1. You don’t give yourself enough credit. You have a natural attention to detail that folks like me only wish we could emulate.
        2. White rims! It definitely gives it that model kit / Tonka Truck vibe and really goes well with the sport bar...IMHO.
        3. you mention engine build issue in one of the posts. Did you have to have it redone? Did they get it right the second time?
        4. Did you do the Honcho stripes or purchase a Phoenix or other kit?

I am out in Colorado now, wagoneer is still stored in VA. Gotta get it out here and into garage to get back on it. Dang thing has been stored for 2 years since body/paint waiting for me to settle down and get interior, etc. finished. Sold my old J10 while I was at Bragg, maybe one of those will be the project after the Wagoneer, and the CJ3.. miss bumming around in that old truck.

Anywho..Don’t want to take away from your build thread, just wanted to speak and repeat what others have said: Really amazing job!
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.

          JPSWAPMAHN

          good to hear from you.

wondered where your job had taken you.

you want to talk about awesome rigs ?, yours is awesome, and so unique

with the color, the wide track flares grafted in,.....blacked out trim, I love it.

ready for you to enjoy it.

THANX for all the nice words on the 1976 build,....

more folks have said "white" rims than chrome,.....

got some beefy steps on there now.

          all interior, bumpers, etc, etc.

got to install last pieces of w shield trim, inside rearview mirror

fix issue with 4WD front shaft engaging in transfer case,......

my camera is broken, got to get some pics posted of the last 2weeks work.

thanx again for commenting, keep us updated on your rig.

Dave, your truck is so epic. I love all of the attention to detail.

The fake pie plates look so good.

I really like the Laredo interior. My Laredo front seats are missing after I got mine back from the PO. I wonder if the CJ high backs have a flip up option on them.

I like the speakers being hidden in that unused space.

And I prefer the white wheels if the bumpers stay white.

wanted to make a plate that is different
( I will admit I over do the AMC thing, but I like the logo so much )

while lying under truck looking at transfer case actuator
I spotted the Borg Warner logo,....

                bingo.

front air dam is NOS from the guy in Japan on eBay
the lic plate bracket is from fsj454,...thanx for a great part.
I have an NOS rhino in box to add on when I get time,....

I'm still not in the garage dinking around on mine but I have a few days off work coming up and I'm feeling much better lately.

                              thanx x3

                              it does drive excellent
the power steering is so POWER assisted
                              it is effortless

never had a vehicle like that.

running smooth as silk right now.

drove around town yesterday on some errands at 5pm
and caused some whiplash to other motorists...
