Got the rear air deflector installed. I don't like the way its installed with just those rubber grommets. Going to have to find another way that's more sturdy. Also got the roof strips and cargo rack polished up and installed.

Thought I'd test fit the new console. This lets me have rear air, cupholders front and back, power devices and a place to put the heated seat controls.

I thought I'd cover the armrest pad and lower section of the sides with a marine grade vinyl I found that really almost matches the leather. Paint the top portion either burgundy or black, and laminate a cover (to fill the space just under the original dash A/C vents) with a woodgrain that closely matches the interior woodgrain. And try to throw in some nice chrome trim.

Really nice looking Waggy. Glad to see you got rid of the wood-grain. I never liked the wood-grain on the sides. Not a real fan of wood-grain period.

Sorry to disappoint, but the wood grain goes right back on. To me it just wouldn't be a woodie without it.

Yesterday's progress. Finished putting the front together and most of the back. Waiting to put the wood back on before finishing the back. Messed around with some electrical stuff and got started on the inside.

I think I got too much heat yesterday. I'm sitting under the ceiling fan today watching TV. I had good intentions this morning, but I'm wiped out.

Nice refurb, that thing must have been parked with rear facing south or west in Arizona, the wood grain looks like it took a beating.

I was curious if you are pleased with the replacement grill shell from TGW, I am on the fence on trying to refurbish my original aluminum piece are just getting a new one.

I wish they would put the black accent stripe around the perimeter.

It looks like the groove/channel for the accent stripe is there. I got some black pinstripe tape when I redid my metal surround. Its held up well.

                            Finally - two steps closer:
Working fog lights and working interior console map lights.

She's coming along now. The plan for this weekend is to get the wood siding back on, recover the overhead console and headliner board.

During the week work on getting the wood trim cleaned up and ready to install next weekend.
