    Jeep NP229 Twin Stick Shifter

THIS IS A SHIFTER BUILT TO REPLACE THE PROBLEMATIC VACUUM SHIFT SYSTEM INSTALLED ON ALL THE NP229S. THE ITEM IS EASILY INSTALLED AND IS BUILT TO TAKE WHATEVER ABUSE YOU CAN DISH OUT. IT PROVIDES A POSITIVE MECHANICAL LINK TO THE TRANSFER CASE--NO MORE GUESSING WEATHER YOUR CASE WILL SHIFT INTO 4WD OR LOW RANGE! This kit doesn't replace the CAD system on the front axle found on some '84-'85 vehicles--only the shift system on the transfer case.
Look here for availability and price:

Am I the only one who bought one of these? I just did buy it off your site that was posted on facebook. Thought I would come here to see what people were saying..
Talk to me Rocky.. Will it need instructions or is it self explainable. I've not even looked into what a NP229 is made like all I know is I was having issues with mine and I thought it was the vacuum so I ripped out the dash for some new parts and figured why I got it all out I might as well do this instead.

I've sold out on Ebay but have a couple on My web site. I can send you a copy of the Instructions--it's very straight forward. Two of the sales went to Repair shops to get customer rigs running. It is a set of levers that attach to the original Tcase levers. The unique item is the reverse knob emblems. The shift pattern on the knobs is the opposite of most others.

Instructions are always a plus. I can wait until it gets here for those. I just pulled the Jeep back out of the drive to work on the Ford some more.
Looks like I got the last one you had available on your site.

No, its the same as what you had with the vacuum system and Flag shifter. Most of the NP229s Ive seen have an internal interlock to prevent Low when in 2wd.

I have enough parts to build two but they are already spoken for. Next week I should have the remaining parts to make the other 8.
                Sorry for the delay

                      Instructions?

Can you post here or make available the instructions for this unit? It sounds great - I'd like to see how it mates up with the tabs on the t-case. In the process now of installing a cable replacement for the vacuum shift motor, but I like the looks of your setup.

                      Thanks.

These are awesome! Could you design/make one for a QT case next? I would pay good money for a pretty single shift lever like that poking out of my floor.

For E-Drive on stock cases, for 4WD in on part time cases...
