I removed the seats and pulled all of the carpet this past weekend. The seats and all of the door/cargo panels have been covered in 80's black velour, so they'll all be getting recovered. The cargo area is pretty clean and solid, however the front floorboards arent in as good of shape. The drivers side has had a fiberglass repair job that has started to let go.

I really wish someone hadn't cut that hole in the dash for the stereo. might just turn it into a little cubby dash hole, or maybe a factory radio delete plate would cover it?

          Hey Adam, Thanks man!

I've been using the motorcycle tank resting on the cowl to pull it in and out of the garage so far. Since we got such a great IFSJA member deal on this Wagoneer, we decided to give this Holley Sniper EFI a try. Next step is to remove both fuel tanks and clean the stock one to reinstall it with the fuel injection.

that wagoneer was a good find.

the fuel injection will be a major upgrade.

Welp, I've made almost no progress on this in the last year but have recently got the itch again. Pulled the intake a few nights ago to make room for an aluminum unit to bolt the sniper on top of.

...and we had the seats reupholstered six months ago.

Those seats look amazing! The hole in the glove box door is either for the clock or there's an emblem that can fit in there.

Yeah, I have the little cover for the glove box door. I was referring to the hole someone cut in the dash for the aftermarket radio. Although while we're on the subject...

I'm desperately looking for an early glove box clock if anyone knows a buddy that might have one!

This is such a cool rig, man! For the dash, are you planning on taking it out and painting it? If so, you could definitely tack in some little mounting pieces and go with either an oem unit or retrosound or something similar. Definitely subscribed to this thread. Your tires just gave me extra motivation to get my new tires mounted.

                          Great stuff!

my heart sank when I saw and thought my machine had a din radio installed. turned out to be just a face plate so happy banana dance there. regardless, in looking I found these (not sure if you're aware of them):

DIN stands for "Deutsche Industrie Normen" which the Germans starting using to standardize radios in Audis, BMWs, Mercedes, and VWs in the mid 80’s.  It has since become the industry standard. These kits enable you to mount a RetroSound® Motor 1, Motor 2 or Motor 4 radio into vehicles that have been either altered to a

your jeep looks great, sitting on the trailer I thought, that thing just needs a good wash... and low and behold, after a good wash it looks amazing. looking forward to new posts.

                                Back from the dead!

After a year of hardly touching this project while having another kid, I found some time to work on it while being quarantined. Finally installed the Holley fuel injection and I have to say it was as simple as they claim. I haven't had it on the road yet but its running and seems to be running well.

The correct 65' GTO aircleaner barely clears the hood with that air gap intake manifold, but it does. Also bypassed the leaky heater core for now. worry about that before it gets cold, maybe.

Pump, filters and fuel line that came with the master sniper kit.

Really wanted a plastic tank to go with the fuel injection install so I found a 97-01 XJ tank. Fits really nice and the fill neck was in good location. Forgot to take a picture before I bolted it up, I drilled a hole in the stock XJ sending unit for the return line.

This is how I notched the new cross-member to work with the stock XJ gas tank straps.
