this weekend while endeavoring to determine why my rear bumper seemed to sit at a bit of an angle I crawled underneath and discovered that the formed sheet metal piece that is attached to the underside of the Body, right bellow and enclosing the tail gate hinge mounts is rusted away. the rubber cross member are gone. the Cross member on the frame is in great shape except for the 2.5" hole where the rubber mount used to be.
Here is my question. I measured the size of what is left and came up with the profile shown in the photo.
The material that was left seemed "thin", we have 14 gauge here at work that we can form.
Does anyone know what the original material thickness was?
