I decided I should get one before KJ snaffles them all up.
Shipping was steep at 18 bones.
I'll let you know in a week.
I did put a note with the order for them to verify it doesn't accept the trim so they don't have to eat the shipping both ways if it isn't as advertised.
Got it today. It's the wrong one. I suspect it's the same misrepresented part Rock Auto was selling.
Idunno if I'll return it or not. I do need a new one.

Funny I need a windshield gasket that accepts the SS trim. Years ago searching for one revealed only non trim gaskets were available. And I never thought new gas fillers would get repro'ed either.
Supposed to get 5 inches of snow tonight. That is not funny at this point. We still have about a foot where the sun shines, 4 plus feet in the trees. Bring on bare ground!!!
I called "Shine on me" car restorations about the grille. There was a member that had them do his razor grille in another thread. They quoted me 2 grand. It really needs some help and I won't give up just yet. 2K is pretty much never gonna happen. That is stunning. There is a metal finishing place down in town. I will ask and also get online for a shop in Spokane.
Shine on me does concours quality work only. I know sadie is nice but not that nice.
Still finishing emblems. And tailgate trim. I should be able to load up the tailgate pretty darn soon. New ribbed aluminum panel material is on the way from the United Kingdom. The instrument cluster face is off a unit from Istanbul Turkey. Sadie is a worldly Wagoneer.

This is what is going to happen since all anodizers I called did not have good things to say about the end result of replating.
From 8mans build thread. It looks just super polished out. I wonder how long it took him?

No response to the note. I'm not sure it went through.
I used PP and attached the not through them but the PP receipt didn't have it on it so I dunno.
Doesn't really matter though, it isn't what they said so it's on them.
I don't need it now so I hate to keep it in case the other one becomes available.

I've powder coated some stuff with the chrome powder and had awesome results. you may contact the shop you had do the rims and see if they can get you a sample, or send them a piece to do for test purposes.
Good idea Todd. Still waiting to hear from 8man where he got his done. I thought he had just stripped and polished. But he said it was anodized. It looks good. There are a few places in Seattle. It was to late to get a hold of anyone today. I will call the powder coating shop for sure. Thanks for that.
Get your firewall pad photographed yet? I am eager to see if it is different.
Got a bunch of rubber bumpers and grommets ordered tonight. Details...

No problem. I'll be back home and oddly enough, off work tomorrow. I'll get some pics taken then.
So does anyone know where to get a new transmission kick down switch? The one located on the gas pedal. The one here was seized up solid. I got it all apart and freed it up, tested and working great. But I will be needing at least two more and would like to find them. It is a Cole Herse product. Any ideas?

The pad is 59 3/8 inches long, the center part is 12 1/2 inches, the ends are 10 inches and the kick out in the middle over the trans tunnel is 4 1/2 inches. hope that helps, let me know if you need more, or better measurements
Superb pictures. That pad is very different. And much more complex to fabricate I see. The bends above the gas pedal area specifically. If I decide to start producing them, I will probably have you fold it in half and send it to me.
Once I had a final product that I know fits well, I could sell them along with my early pad sets. For the effort I would give you a new pad for helping me develop a new product. You have yellow 1 inch thick insulation on the back right?
What do you think the pad is made out of? The sets I make are black fiber board just like original. That pad looks to be a moldable rubber type product? Or is it a paper based board?
I called the powder coater. We talked about the grille and it looks like a fantastic affordable solution. Roughly 350ish and it would be a subdued shine chrome like finish. I am doing some straightening and fitment work, then taking it to him by the end of the week. Sweet!!

That is great news about the grill!! The pad seems to be made of something like a foam carpet pad, not 100% sure. I will run back out to the shop and look at it more closely and get you some pictures of the backside of it. If you PM me your address I'll send it your way, and you know I'd be more than happy to take one off your hands when and if you make them.
to me it looks like some kind of thin molded plastic with the same type of foam used on carpet backing on the back of the plastic. As always I could be, and probably am wrong
