    Seat material

Does anyone know if the seat material for 1982 J10 is available anywhere. I have the low back tri bar seats and need to replace the vinyl. The cloth inserts are in good shape.

Tom from Original auto is retiring. He has sold his inventory to Doug Pollock from SMS auto fabrics in Canby oregon. The single most dishonest worthless POS and sorry excuse of a business in the entire restoration industry EVER.

What a raging shame. Never ever use SMS. You will be very sorry you did.

      I absolutely swear by that.

If it's just the vinyl gone bad any auto upholstery shop should be able to match the color and texture with new to sell you. You planning DIY cause a pro shop may not do it alone if the synthetic cloth inserts to sew to are aged/compromised?
Check with your local car/hot rod/custom car clubs on which shop does good work. May be good time to plan a mini-vaction to Tijuana.

I have samples out to SMS since Original is out of business. I have an auto upholstery shop down the street from me that can do it. If for any reason they change their minds my wife can do it, she has an industrial machine. The truck was stored in a barn since 1996 so its in very good shape. Hopefully I'll know something soon.

Just an update, SMS had all the correct fabrics to restore my sport seats and the correct Western Weave. I really only need the black scratchy material to repair my bolsters but its good to have enough to do the seats and a custom rear panel.
