    1979 Wagoneer restoration project story

My father purchased a 1979 blue two tone Wagoneer in early 1980. He drove it everyday until he died in 1993. It sat in a field since that day until I loaded it up a couple of months ago to restore it. I will be posting on the journey to bring her back to life. Even though it sat for 22 years, I put a battery in it and some fuel in carb and it turned over....she want to live.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing advice.

          restoration points

turned into a complete frame off restoration by myself. I'm not a "car" guy so a to or youtube videos! I did find an old body/paint guy to do that....I was not even going to try it. Same AMC 360 and ALL original parts.
I still need to restore AC radiator, radiator, headliner and a long punch list of small detail this only I would notices but bugs me.
I want to fix the original 8 track stereo but can not find anyone to work on it. Please let me know if you know someone. I replace the speakers with correct sizes, just want the original stereo to power it.
I can not list the many people who helped me track down odd parts for this Broughman package, especially the thin wood grain side pieces I was missing.
Now I can enjoy it even if she get 7-8 mpg!!

            I love those hub caps!

Woah, this is incredible. What a beautiful Jeep and an amazing story.

I feel like it's not often that we get to see the follow up like this - it either gets forgotten or the project gets abandoned.
              Thanks for sharing!

The only person I can think of who might work on the 8-track would be Jeremy's Radio Emporium https://radio-emporium.com/
I don't know if he's taking on new work, but he's an AMC radio specialist and really great to deal with.

Matt, what a great story, and what great work! Thank you for sharing and for updating! It's beautiful work...and gives me (a fellow "not a car guy") to keep learning and plugging away!
