    Jeep IFS

    So to my under standing jeep came up with ifs in the 60's and gave up on it. Does anyone in these forums have a pic or possibly own one of these jeeps that have ifs just curious as I have never seen one and would like to thanks.

      thats cool. they hard to find parts for? how long did they make that for? what models were they found on?

        They were available on all the rigs, up to about '70. I know a guy with two 4x4 IFS wags for sale if interested...

          OMG, I'm SOOO glad mine doesn't have that! That looks like a nightmare. How many factory special tools would it take to rebuild that front end? ugh...

                From what I remember that system was only used for a few years.
                The 2WD system in the illustration was used into the '65 model.
                Did anybody notice the lack of leaf springs. The system used torsion bars.
