When you gut it out to do the full resto take a TON of pics. There are a bunch of us that have done/are doing extra cabs and quad cabs. To actually see how the factory had approached it would be invaluable!!! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
Please pardon the Naysayers.
It was nice to meet and befriend you on Facebook.
I hope because we live close to each other, that I would be granted the opportunity to come over, visit and look at your grandfathers truck.
As I am close, I would be willing to help in anyway that I can with your project.
Trust me, I have been given a lot of help from many members over the years and I would be honored to give back.Bryan Smith

Hello all,
I went down and saw this truck in person on Saturday. What a piece of History!!! Still has the Toledo Tech AMC stickers in the windshield and an experimental VIN tag! Mike was kind enough to put up with me asking a million and one questions. I've got some pictures that I took that I put up on Photobucket:
Mike is a talented body man so I have no doubts this piece of history will be preserved. The cab was done by mixing a 2dr chero roof line and J-truck cab and the whole thing sits on a standard 8ft bed frame (131" wheel base). The bed is a little close to the cab, but that can be fixed. They did use chero seats that flip forward and some fold down from the side jump seats.

Jeep should of built this
Very nice part of FSJ J Truck history.
U will be doing your Grandfather proud by restoring.
If Jeep would of put extend cab into production, J Trucks might of made it while longer.
Thanks Zack for the detailed pics.

Very cool, the old restore, vs preserve argument has to be playing out here.
Looks like Jeep did not know quite what to do on the roof line bulk head, intersection either (tough spot to get right without some custom stampings).
