I haven't wheeled it while the sway bar was removed, but so far, it flexes pretty decent considering the sway bar is connected.

No problems with the front shaft either....

            TTT

Since writing this post the AMC 360 engine locked up on me, so I replaced it wtih a built AMC 401 with GM throttle body.

Everything is working great and the jeep is still my daily driver

My gas mileage increased a little since installing the TBI.

I believe FSJs had flat tops from the first open knuckle front axles (74 or 75?) through part of 1979. I have personally seen/removed them from 1976 and 1978 rigs, and I have personally seen 1979 rigs that did NOT have them (although I am told by others that some 79s do have them.)
They can also be found on some Chevy's (but I dunno which ones since I aint a chevy guy) and I have a set in my garage from a 76 Ramcharger, but they look like they would not work with the regular D44 stuff on our rigs without switching over the whole hub assembly to Dodge-style (which I do NOT recommend - huge PITA to work on.)
No FSJs for the time being - "I'm working on it, I'm working on it" (think Mike Meyers' SNL skit about the gut)
