Talking about the T15 3-speed you have in your truck!

May i ask how is it working ,does it shift okay?
No grinding ,jumping out of gear or broken shift plates etc?

I drive a 73 J4000 as everyday truck ,but the t15 i have it it is a problem child from the begin.
Allready have done some things/tweaks /put some new stuff in a couple of times now.
Also have found another t15 ,but that has the same play and broken shift plates from the second/third inside (it looks like there is to much room/around there.

I Had it okay/better working for a year or two now (afther placing a big shim between the revers gear and rear bearing ),but lately its jumping out of first gear (probably because the whole shift unit moved forward with that shim in it)

Sorry for the threadjack ,but there is not a lot of helpfull info about the t15's in J-trucks! (or i did not find it yet

I have to say that my t-15 performs flawlessly. Slides right into every gear without hesitation and stays in whatever gear I put it in.
