What's your favorite/funniest/most notable comment about your FSJ?

We all get comments; good, bad, indifferent, funny, insulting, rude, kind, etc. Some of them have made me laugh, while others are a lesson in "letting it go"

    My 2 favorites:

    1. I was idling slowly through in front of a huge flooring outlet store with the bass chuckle of my duals echoling off of the store front glass, when a large African American man came running up to me screaming 'THAT'S MY S**T!!! THAT'S MY S**T!!"

Yes he was talking about my jeep, and it was a good thing. Turns out he had an 88 GW and he was trying to convince his wife to let him put money into it to rebuild. He begged me to wait there while she came to see my jeep, because he thought it would help his case.

    Have you seen my jeep?

She came to see it, but I'm not sure it helped him.

    2. In a similar fashion to #1, I was passing in front of Walmart, and i passed in front of 2 African American Gentlemen on foot. As i passed, I could hear one of them exclaim to the other; 'That is sooo STUPID!" Im not up on all the slang, but its my understanding that that was either really good...or just stupid.

Ill never know, but it made me laugh.

I know there are lots of better stories, lets hear them!

Well we who are sadly lacking in the verbal ejaculations of exuberant African Americans, since they, themselves are sadly lacking in our population, we have nothing but the silly teenager-screams I half-hear when I drive by.

And unfortunately, I can't understand most of those yelled comments...but there are a many positive and possibly a few negative comments that I have understood, none particularly humorous though.

The cop who came to check out the graffiti painted on the side of my wag.

He said something like "Dick is a good name for a woody" we both had a little chuckle.

Then he went to inform the neighbor down the road of the enormous illustration of "Dick" painted on his garage door.

I won't be posting a pic of the neighbor's garage door for obvious reasons.

I guess the local ten-year old vandal found a can of Dad's paint in the garage.

I guess meeting one of you guys when we were moving the Panel from Az to Ga at the back of the moving truck. It was late at night & we were stopping to double check where we were headed next and someone on a motorcycle stopped by to check out the truck.

I'm sorry I forget who it was. I forget names far too easily, and it's already been over a year since then. It's the only time that Jeep has seen a road long enough for anyone to comment. lol -- it sucks having a zero budget when you have an awesome truck you want to get on the road.

The "Woody" stuff my wife says.

A guy is checking out the GW and comments how nice it is. My wife comes back with "So your saying you like my woody." Then there's there stuff like, Check out my woody, wanna feel my woody. And it gets worse, Would you wax my woody?

              You get the picture.

This is so out of character for her. She made one woody joke, got a laugh and that started it all.

My wife got several "hell yea!"'s by the kids waiting at the various bus stops .... as she passed several stuck cars/trucks in our neighbourhood .... she had to take the long way round (the easy way) because the short / steep way had 4 cars slid off and one wrecker in the opposite ditch.

Gota love a ride with 4WD and REAL snow tires ......

Thanks Tink, im really liking the 2 inch add a leaf and the 31s. It totally changed the stance and ride for the good.

Weve really only had ours in public a few times.

Was driving through town with the windows down when I heard a guy sitting on his porch say, "Dang, that thing is in good shape." Made us smile.

When my wife dropped me off to pic up my wag, she saw it for the first time, and gasped "Ugh, couldn't you have bought something better"? I thought that was funny, and she still kinda hates it.

We were driving through downtown Atlanta the other day stopped at a light, when a "Downtown" type guy on the corner starts shouting something at us. He was smiling and shouting so I cracked the window a bit to hear....
"Man! That's a real Jeep". " Real jeep right there".

Guy walks up to us (!!!) And puts his hand on the front of the truck (!!!)
"That's all metal right there boyyy, nothing plastic". " What year is that?"
Guy turned out to be OK, just a little strange.

My best just happened recently, an elderly lady sat in her car and waited for the owner to come out. Turns out she has a waggy too. And once a year she "shellacs" the wood.

I've been surprised by how many people offer to buy it in traffic. Of course, they are thinking around $1000-2000. Here's one exchange with a guy at a stoplight:
Guy: Man, that's really nice. I've been looking for something for my daughter to drive. Would you consider selling it?
Me: Well, I'm not looking to sell but I suppose everything has it's price.
                            Guy: How much?
Me: It's fully restored and modernized, so it would take 16 to make me let it go.
Guy: Would you take $1200 cash?
                            Me: 16 thousand

Needless to say, that transaction was not completed....

The people I usually run into had some realative twice removed or friend of a friend of a friend...You know what I mean. One person I was talking to was his mother had one when he was a kid. I asked why she got rid of it. He said the engine fell out if it going down the highway!
