I think I may make the jump

I love this forum. The folks are awesome, the tech is fantastic. But over the last 2 months or so, it has gotten a lot quieter than it already was. I know almost everyone active here is active on the other forum so I think I am going to make the jump over, too. I don't have the brain power to stay on both...

I feel like I am losing an old buddy.

I'm glad there are both sites - I do check them both daily. Neither seem to be incredibly active - I think facebook may be a big part of that. Facebook is too in-the-moment for me though, and there tend to be a lot of the same questions popping up because it's horrible to use as an archived resource.

It would be hard to be an active enough poster to contribute on both boards though - I hear you there!

If anything, facebook pages have killed the forum(s).

This site is way better because of all the saved old info & threads...but, the facebook pages get lots of views quickly, with new/more photos, and usually quick answers.

No law saying you can't patronize both forums, but you have a point about keeping up with things in more than one place. The IFSJA forum has been around for ages....and has a ton of accumulated information here. I am sure plenty of people poke around and never join or post, but gain loads of information and insight from these pages. Even though most of the basics have been discussed thick and thin...there are always a few new things regularly. Sometimes a lighter load is better than being overwhelmed.

The nice thing about forums is you can stop in when it works for you...even if that's years between logins.

I still say this is one of the BEST FSJ resources on the net, and some great people too. We respect wherever you spend your time....

Does anyone know who is running the other form?
I tried to join/renew my login, but couldn't get any response.

I joined over there but I really don't spend much time there. I think Ristow is right, when looking day to day it's pretty slow over there too.

Well it is the very middle of summer. So I bet a lot of people are out doing summer things. Which would explain the slower times on both sites. Hang in there and I bet things will pick up this fall. Don't go to far Rang, At least check in with us once in a while.

                      I agree.

I look at both sites a couple times a day. I wouldn't say the other is more active.

Unless it's the Fuel Injection Forum. I don't look at that one on either site.

Nope!! None of the old timers are allowed to leave the forum. When I can't find what I need in the archives, you all send me the link to where I need to go. I mainly read what you post and it answers my questions. I think you should reconsider.

I visit both almost everyday, it isn't that hard to find ten minutes to check
in here. It's summer, people who have running jeeps are out using them.
Or doing all the family things people do in summer. I know I spend more
time on the forum related to my current project, which right now is the Chevelle.
Others, too, I would guess. You can have Facebook.

Ah man I love this forum. With really no previous resto experience Id be dead in the water without it. I try to add my 2c when I can. It true summer has really slowed down my own progress on my jeep. Really looking forward to the fall.

Both forums have merit. I vacated here years ago when FSJN was resurrected (2011?) but came back later and drop in a few times a week. Both forums typically have less traffic in the summer. Facebook sucks for tech because within a day or two, good luck finding that post.
