I have a SOA thread in Off Road with the latest crap. Basically trying to scrounge up gas money to go fetch a 4" DPA I need to set up the steering. I'm going out now and seeing how these new springs will bolt up.

Well...got em on. I'm wondering if I messed up with the spring front to back..I put the little eye in the front, big eye to the back. It seems pushed forward.
I need to get it on level ground and try and flex it out some...but I think this is pretty darn close to how the monster is going to sit.
Not sure if the 3" lift I was going to try in the back is going to be enough..I'll slap the 2" blocks I have now in and maybe it wont look so redneck ghetto
Maybe it's ok, hard tell, not like anything is OEM lined up anymore.1979 Chero S "Sundog" 1979 Chero S "Hammer"

The long end goes to the front but since you are going to have to get drive shafts to fit, it may not matter. Reckon it depends on the steering link. I like that stance.Flint

It has a pretty darn nice approach angle like that. Think I'll leave it that way.
No mulah in the budget for any different tires right now. But thanks too Flint, I have a DPA to install tomorrow perhaps1979 Chero S "Sundog" 1979 Chero S "Hammer"

If you can keep the caster angle in check you may be able to shim the pinion up.
I was able to go with 6* shims and still keep 3* of caster on my D60, good pinion angle and still drives fine on the interstate.2000 Infinity QX4, 3.3L, MPFI, 4 speed auto, 2 speed Nissan tcase, Unibody, IFS front, 4 link rear solid axle with 255-70/16s

Just an update..I haven't touched this since fall..I no longer live at that house, or with my family, but my jeeps still do. I'll be doing my best to finish the truck, although I would sell it to a forum member if anyone is interested. But the good news is that for the near future, it's ok there. So..hopefully I can get it running this spring, eh?1979 Chero S "Sundog" 1979 Chero S "Hammer"
