    Mirror Opinions

I am thinking of changing my drivers door mirror and adding one to the passenger side. Any suggestions or opinions? I am looking at the Grand Wagoneer remote mirrors.

    Thanks!

I just went through this myself. I have the tripod mirror (both sides) with a huge 7 x 10 mirror. I wanted smaller but not too small, and I decided the GW mirrors were too small. I ended up keeping the tripd and downsizing to a 5 x 7 mirror, readily available at your local auto parts store (they also had a 4 x 6). I trimmed down the horizontal arm so it didn't stick out as far. Works great, and I didn't have to patch existing holes or drill new ones. My 77 Cherokee is now 7 inches slimmer.

Thanks. I am not sure I want to add anything that big.

can you see me now ?

my opinion is the factory side mirrors like on a 1988 grand wagoneer
        are way too small !

if i had a more rugged wagoneer,
it would have those large tripod mirrors

        and if i ever get a j-10 truck,they would be a must.

there is nothing like being able to see really well in those side mirrors.
my dad drove for trailways and has always stressed how important the mirrors on a vehicle are.

and the tiny OEM grand wag mirrors fall way short on functionality.

The tiny stock mirrors just barely get the job done. If you're ever planning to tow anything or just want to see better then definitely go for an upgrade.

Doesn?t someone sell an adapter so you can use late model 1990ish Chevy truck or Dodge truck mirrors??

With that adapter above you probally could get electric mirrors from a dodge truck and use them if you drilled a hole in the mount for a wire.
