    Salvage yards california,nevada,arizona

    Hello everybody,

I am visiting the westcoast of the US (california, nevada, arizona) in April/May this year , and I am a huge fan of just visiting old salvage yards with classic cars (before 1975), wo do not have that in Holland.
Does anybody know some of those places or help me out finding them'it doesn't matter if it is a big, small or abandoned salvage yards everything is welcome

    Thanks for your reply

Good luck on your quest! Seems when steel was at an all time high most older metal was crushed. I also like ole junk yards, I remember there was one in Dodge Center Minnesota that had many many full size Jeeps. Wonder if its still there..

Not auto salvage but if you get down to Southern Arizona, make sure you visit the boneyard (for planes) and the Air and Space museum.
      No FSJ right now.

J&W Antelope CA - lots of Jeep parts, pricey
Scotty's Fontana CA - also lots of Jeep parts, pricey
Any of the Pick-Your-Part yards in SoCal - no guarantees, but sometimes there's something interesting.
There used to be a pick-your-part style yard in Rialto CA that had a lot of interesting cars.
There's an AMC-only yard in Wilmington CA. They may have some interesting cars.

You just have to try the various places. It's been several years since I've been out looking for parts at the SoCal yards, but I did ok by looking at the phone book and trying a bunch of places. Very often these yards will be in clusters, becasue there are only certain areas where that type of business is allowed. You'll find that most of the yards won't let you go and look at the cars, and only keep cars that are 10 years old or less. Skip them and try another.

This is the only one I know of in the LA area. I dont know if they would let you look around. Most of the places down there don't anymore.

There is an all Jeep yard in Fontana, right behind the NASCAR track. Well it used to be, I haven't been there for a few years. It's called Scotty's Jeep & Truck 4x4 Dismantling and Repair. 14349 Whittram. Fontana , CA 92335. 909-829-4823.

This place used to have a special section for older cars. It's one that you pay $2 and you can go in and walk around all you want.

                            Thanks for your replies,
I am making a list to see what is on the route.
They don't have to be only jeep salvage yards, as long as there are pre 1970 cars.
