    Custom Seat Questions

There is a vendor on eBay selling center consoles for Full Size Jeeps.

Vertically Driven Products Padded Center Console

    I like these seats.
I wrote to the seller to inquire about the seats shown in auction.
He replied and had no information about these seats.

I am seeking your opinions and comments to these questions about the seats on either side of the center console:
    1. Are these seats standard J10 style buckets with a custom upholstery job?
    2. If not custom, are these standard J10 style buckets with an off the shelf seat covers?
    3. Are these even J10 style bucket style seats?
    4. Any guess as to what they might be? XJ seats? Some aftermarket CJ? Not even a Jeep seat?

I was gonna say aftermarket, but they look too thick on the uprights, like maybe they have airbags?

I thought you were going to do Explorer seats, Bryan? I absolutely love mine.

Nope, I had been planning to do Dodge Dakota seats.
I believe I learned about these here.
As I understand it, they fit like they were tailor made and these seats were a near bolt it, with just a few holes to drill.
(you folks with these Dakota seats, correct me it I am wrong)
I owned a '97 Dodge Dakota Sport from near new to 2005.
I put a lot of miles on that truck and those clothe seats were not bad to sit in for hours on end.

I've had my eye on some at my local Pick-a-Part Yard.
Dodge Durango seats are nicer, but they do not tilt forward for my J10.

Here are some 2003 Dakota seats....very similar to the ones in my '97

Tell me more about your Ford Exploder seats?
      Clothe? Leather? Power? Heated?
...but the biggest question, how well do they fit?
Was there a lot of fabrication to get them to work in a FSJ?

I dont think the seats are in a FSJ. Look at the bracket in the front of the drivers seat. Doesn't look at all like my gw. I like them tho.

Yea, you asked me about mine in my build thread, you asked if I could make brackets, and I didn't think I could because the way I did it it involved some pounding of the trans tunnel, welding up some stuff, and other hurdles.

But it was worth it. I put in aftermarket heaters, they are power on drivers side all self contained, just power and ground. They tilt and recline and feel great.

It looks like the seats and vehicle are an early baby Cherokee (wagoneer) 1984ish to me.

That is the inside of a YJ and those are stock YJ seats. And that console is a Rugged Ridge YJ console.

              A few jeeps

I actually do really like that center console. Not to thread hijack, but has anyone tried that one or anything like it? The price is certainly right too, and cup holders and locking storage would be wonderful

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

Does it fit similar to the one in the pic since that's obviously not in a FSJ? My only concern with it is that it doesn't come in the Dark Red color of my interior so I will try the black and if I hate it, just re cover it in red vinyl. Thanks
