Where to buy windshield on line/fair price

Not even sure what a good price would be. A local guy quoted me a price of $250 (just the glass) Thanks for any help.

Okay, I had a little trouble finding a company that would sell me a windshield on line. There are plenty that do it, but when you type in windshield in any way, the installers all come up. Anyway, here is the company I used.

$159.88 shipped to their nearest warehouse to me which is Metairie La. 30 miles from my house. That is where my Dad lives so when it comes in, I'll go meet him for lunch. Once it comes in I'll post more info on if it all worked out.

Did you ask where the glass was made?
There is a difference...with windshields there are cheap ones that are cheap for a reason.

Thanks for this post. I'm also in need of a new windshield.
My folks are wintering in AZ right now. They are driving back north in about a month. Hope they can pack well! Lots of goodies being delivered to them.

When you do the instal I would love to see some pictures and some instructions. Really helps out us newbies.

Super deal! Don't forget to mask the dash off. Remember Greg (63J200atLSU) had urethane glass sealant drop on his dash when he was installing his glass and it would not come off. He had to pull it and repaint. Yikes...

I will remember that for sure! I took a rock to the windshield couple weeks ago and I now need one.

              I'll be watching the install.

Okay, received an e-mail today at 4:33 pm stating that my windshield was in. It's at a warehouse in Metairie, about 30 miles from my house. It also states that the glass is not packed and that you will need to bring blankets or packing materials for safe travels. Inspect glass before you leave, damaged glass can not be returned. no returns after 30 days and a 10% restocking fee.
Sounds good to me. Pretty straight forward. That was really quick. Two days.

From what I've read, urethane isn't the stuff to use on these. It's for gasketless glass that's glued to the metal.

These should use something like 3M 08509: https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-...3786499&rt=rud

                        Correct...do not use urethane.

Okay, just picked up the windshield from Pilkington Glass. The glass is stamped (TriVal). Looked up TriVal and it is owned by Pilkington Glass. Did a really quick search and could not find out for sure if this glass was made here or over seas. But Pilkington does manufacture here in the USA, but also in other parts of the world too. The new windshield is thinner than the windshield I took out. I have heard from other members on this site that this is the new normal and you can not get the old style thick windshield any more unless you have it custom made.
