could have been an open circuit draining the battery.

I had the same issue when I did mine It ended up...

I had the same issue when I did mine
It ended up being the junction block (sits on top of the axle)
Once replaced I was able to bleed the rear tires

especially something with that many smiles/miles on it, could be something that just needs routine...
