I am pretty sure the single wire is a positive...

I am pretty sure the single wire is a positive lead, the horn itself is the negative lead by acting as the ground. You can just ground the negative wire on the ooogaa horn.

you can make a homemade bump-starter from wire and any switch, or just basically give 12v to the small post on the starter solenoid, it will activate the starter.

I looked at mine and it doesn't seem to have much adjustment...

is the steering wheel shaking? or do you feel it in the brakes? If it's in the wheel, good chance it's up front. In only the brakes, most likely in the rear, unless it's the discs warped.

you could take off a valve cover and have a look for completely loose pushrods.
