Aftermarket has also lumped all SJ springs into interchangeable/similar.

If it's a 77 with motorola alternator and external regulator I'd start with making sure all wiring is sound and replace regulator.

Old Fords it was fairly common for "pulsating" lights.

cut a slit through one entire side length of hose needed.
wrap it around edges of grille.

Most common culprit is the alternator is backfeeding the ignition circuit.

Could be bad wiring somewhere, a PO modification, or even a bad alternator.
Easiest way to "fix" is usually adding a diode...

I had quotes ~$200 for new headliner from 2 different local shops.
Personally when I get around to it that is what will happen.
$400+ is crazy imho for cardboard&fabric.

look @ your cluster and your gauge i bet $ it has the cvr internally

Only difference is the face(font/lettering).
So whatever gauge you find/buy will work fine it just not match the others.

If needed you can swap the face plate...
