I'd try to install assembled window before you cut it.
These are prone to leak already and a cut seal will almost definitely leak.

Early fender aprons/core supports the front bolt holes are in different locations than later ones.

a '79-'91 regulator/motor is a direct fit with few small wiring changes required.
