I had my waggy (1987) converted to 134 last week. The mechanic was worried because the compressor did not cycle. Is the pressure switch that I have supposed to turn the compressor of intermittently?...

Finally bit the bullet and tore the timing cover off. Before I did, I made sure that i am TDC on the compression stroke. I attached a picture.

Looks like he tried to set it straight up but aligned...

will e - the vacuum improves a bit if I advance the distributor a bit. but not significantly. When I meant that its driving better, its in mid rpm range only....but then that is subjective anyway....

I have a 360 with the Edelbrock performer cam and intake. Even with all the vacuum lines eliminated, I am only pulling about ~ 12 in-Hg of vacuum.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I tried the "soak in clear gear oil" and assembled without the vaseline. That did not work at all....either with a priming tool nor just trying to start the engine....
