There's nothing wrong with D70 front axles. They might be thinking of the weak D60's that are in the M715. But then alot of people think if its not an open knucle axle its weak.

I built my own out of some scrap plate, an old u-joint and some carrage bolts. It works great, with the u-joint it allows me to tilt the trany front to back and side to side.
