having a shop match the balance is best
many times they aren't so...

a new rebuild obviously best to have balanced but for a swap probably be fine to just buy/use flexplate ya get.

imgur allows resizing via the pic link, other sites may as well, but imgbb doesn't and pics that large really mess with folks on...

Main issue with AMP meter is crappy old wiring/connections AND the age of gauge itself.
I have seen many many melted wires on these, and gauge plastic bits cracked/failing.

GM D52 calipers used on millions of vehicles.
pretty sure they're 10mm for metric calipers.

There are 3 bolts on each hinge...
That would be the only reason I can think of that you cannot move the hinges.

Meaning you need to have the headlight switch on or they do not get power/work.

flexplate and crank spacer ring needed for th400
the starter is different 78 vs 90
driver side manifold for 78 with passenger drop axle is different
power...
