UPDATE

UPDATE!!! Upper rear main seal was installed with the "lip" facing rear not the front of the engine!

I'm getting pretty efficient removing my oil pan! Twice this week. Only takes me 32 minutes to...

the engine removal & install cost is @ 75.00...

the engine removal & install cost is @ 75.00 per hour x 5.5 hours is 412.50, plus 100.00 in parts. Add oil & filter for 65.00 = 577.50 for the job.

the oil leak is directly from the inspection plate. I wipe off the oil once I park it in the garage. While parked no oil leak!

I agree totally. I just purchased a left front door (on the door)latch: 30.00 plus 8.00 shipping. Compare to JWJeep.com (which BJ's Offroad recommended): 250.00 plus shipping!!!!!!

Hmmm. The repair shop quoted an Estimate to replace rear main seal per the (Mitchell cost estimate book?) @ 5.5 hours to R&I engine: parts 100.00.

FRUSTRATION Rear main seal leaks

Okay...my 401 was rebuilt by the Jeep dealership in December 2017. Now
They have replaced the rear main seal twice. Still leaks
Today the service manager saw no damage to the old seal.
What gives?...
